Living in Travis Heights

Just south of Lady Bird Lake and east of South Congress Avenue, Travis Heights is one of Austin's oldest and most loved neighborhoods. Its streets climb and curve under old live oaks, and many of its homes date from the 1920s through the 1940s.

It suits people who want character and a short walk to dinner, with downtown close enough to feel like part of the neighborhood.

What people love

  • Walking to the shops, restaurants and music on South Congress
  • Stacy Park and the Blunn Creek greenbelt running through the middle of it
  • A real mix of restored bungalows and thoughtful modern homes

Good to know

Lots are often steep and irregular, and some homes sit near Blunn Creek. A careful look at drainage, foundations and any historic designation on the property is part of buying well here.
